8M: AMMPE World calls for investment in girls' and women's education
In her message on the occasion of International Women's Day, the president of the World Association of Women Journalists and Writers, Elia Simeone, urged governments, entrepreneurs and organizations to invest in the education of girls and women as the best tool for their promotion and development.
She recalled the words of Chilean Nobel Literature Prize winner and intellectual Gabriela Mistral in this regard, and used them to endorse the slogan set by the UN for this year's 8M: "Invest in women, accelerate progress".
"Only with solutions that empower women will we be able to respond to the challenges we face globally," said Simeone.
