Threads, more noise in the public conversation

A rival application to Twitter that reinforces disinformation in the democratic public square.

The public conversation surrounding the emergence of Threads as a competitor to Twitter was dominated by the rivalry between the tycoons of the two great global technology emporiums, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, respectively.
For weeks, the public conversation has revolved around the rivalry between the two, the successful launch of Threads last July 5, the history of nearly identical technology applications and interface of the two social networks.
Even the willingness of these digital emperors to star in a Roman Colosseum-style cage match, mixed martial arts show-style, is an idea that might seem ridiculous, but you never know when business moves at the clickety-click pace.
Perhaps due to the human capacity to adapt to adverse situations, it is possible that in the emergence of Threads, the serious contemporary problem that strikes the public debate in democracy, such as the "global warming" of the public square due to social networks, may have gone unnoticed.
