AMMPE Italy and the Noi Rete Donne network organized a reflection on parity democracy 50 years after the coup d'état in Chile
The Chilean Ambassador to Italy, Ennio Vivaldi, participated this Thursday, September 28, in a discussion organized by the Italian chapter of the Worldwide Association of Women Journalists and Writers (Ammpe Italia) and the Noi Rete Donne (NrD) network, whose main focus is parity democracy, in which the role of Chilean women was analyzed from various facets since the mid-twentieth century, with special emphasis on the role they played since the coup and up to the present day.
Patricia Mayorga, president of Ammpe Italia, presented the initiative, thanking the participants and stressing the need to keep the memory alive in the new generations. Daniela Carla, coordinator of the "Noi rete Donne" network, stressed the importance of parity democracy.
Ambassador Vivaldi was joined by the president of the Museum of Memory and Human Rights of Chile, Marcia Scantlebury; Professor Maria Rosaria Stabili, the leading Italian expert on Chile; the journalist of the Italian Radio and Television (RAI), Giulia de Luca, expert on Latin America; and the president of Ammpe Mundial, Elia Simeone, who sent a special greeting and invited to the next Congress of the organization to be held in Punta Arenas, in 2024.
