AMMPE refuses the sentence to six years of prison to the Filipino colleague
The Worldwide Association of Women Journalists and Writers (AMMPE) strictly refuses the sentence to six years of prison to the Filipino colleague Maria Ressa, one of the strongest fighter and protester against President Rodrigo Duterte.
Ressa was elected as one of the Women Of The Year 2018 by the TIME Magazine, with other journalists. She was arrested last year at the offices of the Rappler website, founded by herself, then was set free after paying a fee.
Ms. Ressa is accused of defamating the powerful tycoon and president of her country by connecting him to crimes related with drugs and human beings trade.
