El País Reader's Ombudsman launches newsletter to strengthen ties with the audience

El País Readers' Ombudsman, journalist Soledad Alcaide, has launched a newsletter, with which she aims to further strengthen ties with readers. This new channel of interaction is in addition to her already established biweekly columns and a podcast. The newsletter is intended to answer questions and welcome recommendations from readers, as well as to unravel the mechanics of a newsroom.
Soledad Alcaide aspires for this newsletter to be a forum for open dialogue between the audience and journalism professionals. "As an advocate, I am the voice between the two and I want to tell the stories of how readers participate and improve the newspaper. But also, how all the work that goes on in a newsroom is focused on a single goal: to make what is happening in the world more understandable," Alcaide explains.
