President of AMMPE Guatemala participated as an international observer in the election of this Centro American country

Ana María de Eskenasy, president of the Guatemalan chapter of the Worldwide Association of Women Journalists and Writers, was invited to be a national observer by the "Electoral Observation Program" and represented AMMPE as an international observer during the election process of the President of the Republic of Guatemala last Sunday, November 20.


"My function was to observe the development of the electoral process in an objective, impartial and respectful manner, having celebrated a civic celebration with a lot of order, tranquility and responsibility. There was a 45% participation of citizens, who cast their vote. Observers from Europe, Asia and America came and confirmed that it was an organized process", explained Ana María.
Bernardo Arévalo was elected President with 58.01%, equivalent to 2,441,661 votes, and Sandra Torres received 37.24%, equivalent to 1,567,472 votes.
