The above means it reached the milestone much faster even than ChatGPT. OpenAI's chatbot passed the mark after two months, but Threads, which launched only on Wednesday, July 5, got there in a matter of days.
In the first two hours, it reached 2 million users and from there climbed steadily to 5 million , 10 million , 30 million and then 70 million . The launch has "far exceeded our expectations," CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Friday July 7.
