Forbes Chile magazine named journalists Antonia Orellana, Mónica Rincón and Mónica González among the 30 most powerful women in Chile.

The editorial team describes each of our colleagues as follows:

Antonia Orellana, Minister of Women’s Affairs and Gender Equality

A journalist by profession, she has dedicated her career to different organisations linked to the feminist movement in Chile and Latin America. Since March 2022 and for the first time in the country’s history, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, which she heads, is part of the Political Committee, the closest circle to the President of the Republic, which with the latest cabinet changes is made up of five women and one man.

Mónica Rincón

The CNN Chile journalist has become one of the country’s most influential communicators, known for her direct and unflinching style. A graduate of the Catholic University, she began her career at Canal 13 and then moved on to TVN, where she eventually became the host of Estado Nacional. She made the leap to CNN Chile and became the face of the channel, along with Daniel Matamala. There she hosts the programmes CNN Prime, Aquí se Debate, Tolerancia Cero and Conexión Global.

Mónica González

The National Journalism Award winner is one of the most respected and credible communicators in the country. Exiled after the 1973 coup d’état, she returned to Chile to devote herself to investigative journalism. In 2007 she founded CIPER and directed it until 2019, making it one of the most respected entities of its kind. She is the author of multiple books and winner of the international María Moors Cabot, Gabriel García Márquez and Guillermo Cano Unesco awards.
