XXIV WORLD CONGRESS AMMPE 2022

«POST-PANDEMIC: GLOBAL COMMUNICATION CHALLENGES»

The World Association of Journalists and Writers (AMMPE) will hold between 14th and 17th September, at the Aula Magna of the University of RomaTre, the XXIV Congress 2022: «post-pandemic: the challenges of communication at the global level».

After the institutional greetings, and among them by the Director of the Faculty of Political Science, Daniele Fiorentino, by Prof. Laura Fotia, and a greeting recorded by the President Emerita of the Accademia della Crusca, Nicoletta Maraschio, Patricia Mayorga President of AMMPE World, will inaugurate the work of the Congress.

«Migration, a global problem (comparison of Latin American, European, African and Asian realities) will be the first theme, moderated by Vice President AMMPE Italy, Elena Llorente. Then, the other topics will cover the new challenges of journalism especially from a gender perspective (social networks and fake news), to conclude with a fundamental topic in our day: the Environment.

On the second day we will analyze some global problems, including the post-pandemic socio-economic situation (women, pandemic and human rights); women and creativity (the talent of women at 360 degrees). Then, there will be a moment of confrontation with the 5 former Presidents of the Association of Foreign Press, and the screening of the documentary «Diktatorship: Fallo e basta!».

The third day will be attended by the President of AMMPE Italia, Mariana Diaz, moderating the panel «Press freedom, limits and developments», starting from the digital age and the latest facts: pandemic, war in Ukraine). The last topic will be «Gender inequalities and stereotypes in the world of communication», especially the sexist language.

The Congress will end at the Sala della Protomoteca in the City Hall.

Patricia Mayorga, President of AMMPE World, emphasizes how important was the contribution and solidarity of the members to continue the activities, despite the pandemic from Covid-19, thus allowing to show that the difficulties are always a stimulus. Thanks to high-level speakers, it was possible to hold meetings on issues that directly involve society, including: sexism in the media or cyberbullying against journalists (increased during the pandemic), as well as issues related to the female world, as well as the different forms of violence, the female issue, the pandemic, etc.
